KIDS DO ART!
Kids Do Art!
The mission of the Jansen Art Center is to engage the community in the arts, and a large part of that is giving kids opportunities to try a variety of art forms. We host four Kids Do Art! events each year: Spring Break Workshops, Summer Camp, Fall Open House, and Winter Art Jingle.
Spring Break offers 3 days of workshops that coincide with spring break for the Lynden School district. Students can register for 1-2 workshops per day, for a total of 6. These workshops represent the art studios at the Jansen Art Center and generally include a combination of ceramics, dance, music, painting, textiles, jewelry, multi-media art, and literary arts.
Summer Camp is a week-long art camp held in the summer. Students can take an art sampler class in the morning to try 5 different art classes and they can register for an intensive class for the afternoon – so they can learn more about one art form over the course of the week.
Fall Open House is an event at the J to give the families in the community an opportunity to DO ART! in each of our studios.
Winter Art Jingle offers 1 day of gift-making classes!

The Jansen Art Center is excited to serve as a teaching space for artists. Our instructors are passionate about engaging the community in the arts.
I loved mud pies as a kid and it stuck! Have worked in ceramics since the early ’70s, have participated in several arts and craft shows, displayed at the Burien Art Gallery, Sea-Tac Airport teapot display, Third Runaway Potters Shoes with other studio artists and at Crow Valley Pottery.
Organic combined with a whimsical feel are the inspirations behind my one of a kind handbuilt pottery pieces. Warm earthy colors along with interesting textures complete most of my work. The garden pieces, fruits, veggies, boxes, and other items invite you to decorate indoors or outside.
