Textiles have always been part of my life. I grew up sewing many of my own clothes. As an adult I’ve enjoyed creating quilts by sewing machine, hand applique, and hand stitching. In retirement weaving has become an important part of my life. However, I frequently go to my crochet hooks and yarn for a relaxing and creative pursuit. I taught myself to crochet when I wanted to make a baby blanket for my first child. During the Pandemic I accomplished my goal of learning to crochet socks for myself. I really enjoy making elaborate granny squares, and recently have been learning the techniques and skills needed for amigurumi figures and toys.
