6 Week Class with Dan Stockwell

4:30–6:00pm
This course introduces students to creating ceramic forms utilizing the potter’s wheel and a range of techniques: centering, throwing and trimming, firing, and glazing. Classes will consist of technical demonstrations, work time, and individual instruction based on each student’s progress. Understanding of clay as a recyclable material and not every attempt to throw will be successful but persistence will be needed.
The first 4 weeks will be used to learn and throw pottery, week 5 will be used to glaze bisque ware, and week 6 will be used to critique work.

$14.00 for a 1/2 bag of clay

MATERIALS TO BRING
Students need to bring a small pail for water. Beginning clay throwing sets can be bought at the J or at Dakota Art Supply. Dress casually in clothes that can get dirty and be clay-ified. Wear closed-toed shoes, no flip-flops or sandals. Students can also bring a towel.
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
In accordance with guidance from the CDC, masks are required for everyone inside the J regardless of vaccination status. We continue to closely watch the recommendations of our local health department and will promptly update you with any changes.
