In this eight-week course, learn essential metalsmithing processes and techniques while laying the foundation for a good studio practice. Class time will be spent learning processes including piercing metal with a jeweler’s saw, adding texture to metal, soldering, and annealing metal with a torch. We’ll also review how to create and bezel set a cabochon gemstone while creating a stunning sterling silver ring. Leave class with a variety of samples and several finished pieces, including a ring and a pendant. Please bring a pencil and notebook/sketchbook, wear closed-toe shoes, and keep long hair tied back. Class size is limited, so register early!
