The Whatcom Artist Studio Tour was founded in 1995 to bring the public into artists’ working studios for a two-weekend self-guided tour and sale. Many of the artists will offer tours of their workspaces or demonstrations of the tools and processes they use to create. The Studio Tour offers visitors insight into area artists’ creative process, work life, and work environment.
The tour celebrates its 29th year in 2023. It began with ten artists and has grown to be a well-orchestrated tour featuring over 50 artists working in more than a dozen different media, featuring 41 studios scattered throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County, and exhibits throughout our regional galleries including the J.
This exhibit at the Jansen Art Center showcases artwork from many of the artists participating in the 2023 tour. Be sure to pick up your Whatcom Artist Studio Tour guidebook and visit the studios of your favorite artists. Artist information and tour maps from this year are online: www.studiotour.net
