Promising Futures

April 10 – May 23, 2025

Opening Reception Thursday, April 10, from 6-8 pm

Promising Futures is an annual exhibit that celebrates the creativity and dedication of high school artists throughout Whatcom County. Hosted in a professional fine art gallery, this show offers students a unique opportunity to present their work in a public setting, many for the very first time.

By featuring young artists in a real gallery environment, Promising Futures encourages artistic growth and fosters a deeper connection between students and the wider arts community. From painting and photography to ceramics, sculpture, and mixed media, the work on display represents a wide range of talent, vision, and creative exploration.

Each piece in the exhibit has been thoughtfully selected to reflect both the technical skills and personal voice of each student. This platform provides them with valuable exposure, recognition, and the confidence to continue pursuing the arts as a meaningful path—whether professionally or personally.

2025 Participating High Schools

This year’s exhibition features artwork from talented students representing ten high schools in our region: Bellingham, Squalicum, Sehome, Ferndale, Blaine, Mt. Baker, Meridian, Lynden, Lynden Christian, and Nooksack Valley.
