The Jansen Art Center is pleased to welcome artist Nick Payne to The Inn at Lynden. The exhibit, Paintings by Nick Payne, opens on Friday, February 1 and will be on display through May 30, 2019.
After graduating from the University of Washington, Nick Payne spent two years in Belfast working for a voluntary service organization which promoted peace. On returning to the USA, he worked in education for several years. Throughout most of Payne’s educational career, his parallel career was painting.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“An important artistic focus for me is seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary. For example, beach rocks are so common in our experience that we might overlook their extraordinary variety and visual beauty.” — Nick Payne
