Upcoming Lace Weaving

Woven lace is a fun way to add texture and a special look to fabrics that can be used as table linens, towels, and in clothing. In this class, we’ll explore several woven laces: Huck, Spot Bronson, Swedish Lace, and Atwater-Bronson Lace.

This will be a round-robin class, so each person will warp one of the lace patterns, and then take turns weaving on each of the looms. In the end, you’ll have samples of each of the lace weaves you can choose to use in future weaving projects.

Looms are to be warped before the first class, following directions provided by the instructor. You may choose your own colors for warp and weft from materials provided, or bring suitable yarns from your stash. You may use one of the table looms in the Textile Studio or bring your own loom. If you would like help with warping, please come to the Textile Studio on Tuesday, November 21 between 11 and 3, or arrange an alternate time with the instructor.
