Expired COLOR AND WEAVE

Due to the concerns around COVID-19, the Jansen Art Center is temporarily closed. We will reopen and resume programming when it’s safe to do so, taking our cue from the government, health department & CDC.
4 Weeks: Friday, April 6 – 27
1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Instructor: Sheri Ward
Come explore some of the fascinating effects you can get through color combinations in warp and weft. Typically worked with two shuttles, color-and-weave patterns transform simple plain weave and twill structures into interesting designs through the use of intentional color patterns. We’ll use 4-harness looms and log-cabin patterns, hound’s tooth, shadow-weave, and twill weave to see the impressive effects that can be achieved.
Students will be given warping instructions a week or two before the class starts, and assistance with warping will be available on Thursday, March 29 and April 5.
