Expired Color and Weave Effects

Come explore some of the fascinating effects you can get through color combinations in warp and weft. Typically worked with two shuttles, color-and-weave patterns transform simple plain weave and twill structures into interesting designs though the use of intentional color patterns. We’ll use the Jansen’s 4-harness table looms (included in the fee) and log-cabin patterns, hound’s tooth, shadow-weave, and twill weaves to see the impressive effects that can be achieved. Students will be provided with warping instructions a week or two before the class starts, and should have some familiarity with warping a loom.

If you would like help with warping, please come to the Textile Studio on Tuesday, Jan. 30 between 11 and 3, or arrange an alternate time with the instructor.
