4 Week Class with Val O’Connor

Join us as we explore the basic techniques of tapestry weaving! This class is designed for the individual who has little or no previous experience in the art of making tapestry. In this class, you will create a small tapestry using a frame loom, learning how to warp the loom and finish a piece upon completion of your work. You will learn to apply various weaving techniques to create angles, lines, circles, and other shapes as well as color blending and shading techniques such as regular and irregular hachure, pick n’ pick along with a variety of stitching techniques.

MATERIALS TO BRING
Class materials are supplied. You are welcome to bring your own: any color six to eight small bundles of 3-4 ply worsted weight wool yarn, a dinner fork or small tapestry beater, scissors, tape measure, various sizes of tapestry needles.
