July 14 – October 15, 2022

The Jansen Art Center is pleased to announce the premier exhibition of NOVA ROMA: Three Views of the Ancient City by local artist, Eric Chauvin. At over six years in the making, these incredibly detailed acrylic paintings depict three landmark views of the city of Constantinople as it may have looked in the year 540 CE. Drawing from historical texts and archaeological reconstructions, Chauvin has created paintings that are not only beautiful to look at but are possibly the most accurate depictions we currently have of the city during its heyday.

Prints of these pieces are available for purchase in the Gallery Shop.
