Winter Textile Explorations

The Jansen Art Center welcomes the Winter Textiles Explorations Exhibit, showcasing the variety of work created by the talented artists of the J’s Textiles Studio. Most artwork is for sale and the exhibit contents will rotate as pieces are purchased. Visit us in person to see the full scope! We’re open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12:00-4:30pm.
Studio Artist Statement
At no other time in our lives have we been unable to enjoy the kinds of personal collaboration we have always taken for granted in our classes, guild meetings, and informal gatherings. However, in isolation we have found ways to express our creativity through the strength and encouragement of our virtual contacts, photos and communication. During this time we have also found freedom to try things we might not have tried in more usual times. Thanks to the J’s soft reopening, more recently we have been able to have some limited personal contact in small groups.
During this time, having an avenue to express our creativity has helped us heal in ways that would not have been possible otherwise. Meanwhile, we hope you will enjoy seeing this exhibit.
