Saturday at the J – Sheila Steinborn & Alan McEwan
2020-2021 Virtual Winter Juried Exhibit Coming 12/3!
In the meantime, let’s take another peek at the 2020 Fall Juried Exhibit!
This exhibit has been extended and will remain live on our website until 12/2.
In light of the most recent directives issued by the Governor’s office to continue to limit the spread of COVID-19, and because the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors are always our highest priority, we have made the difficult decision to again close the Jansen Art Center until further notice.
During this time you can stay connected to the J and engage in local art by viewing all current exhibits in the online galleries on our website.

Sheila Steinborn
My work reflects my passion for how important flowers, trees, water, and nature in all its forms is to each of us. I want my paintings to transcend my subject matter by being impressions of the essence of the subject – not just a likeness. Florals and seascapes are two of my favorite motifs. Painting and creating are life and make it more meaningful. I find joy in colors, shapes, and the consistency of luscious, thick paint. The ocean and its fragility inspires much of my work, along with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Could you tell me if the painting Toro Creek, Rain by Alan McEwan has been sold? If not I would love to purchase it. I have 2 of Alan’s paintings from when he lived down here in Monterey County.
