Artist Statement

For decades line has been my strong suit. Intense layering, use of implied lines, and patience comprise my methodology. My creative subconscious defines my art —perfect imperfection, as in nature.

I create abstract artwork using both traditional and non-traditional materials to make paintings, drawings, totems, and collages. My mixed-media pieces focus on details of shape and shadow. I draw inspiration from ancient cultures and all aspects of nature.

I work in my home studio in Blaine — here I turn my view of the world into tangible, visual pieces for others. These artworks depict my vision of what I perceive through a spiritual interpretation of reality. My art exemplifies a transcendent meta-realism, created from within.
