LIANE REDPATH

As a child, Liane Redpath knew she would be an artist.

After experimenting with most every art medium, she arrived at jewelry making. Liane is fascinated with metal as it is a malleable material in both make and appearance.

Working with metal, Liane is “given the opportunity to create art that can be seen by others daily. Sculptural jewelry. Wearable art jewelry that can be enjoyed by the wearer and viewer.” This interaction that she describes is so different than art that is two-dimensional, which is often restricted to being viewed in a more private setting.

All of my jewelry is hand fabricated, starting with basic sheet metal goods. Using torches, anvils, hammers and other tools of the jewelry trade, the metals are bent, shaped, textured & polished. Often patinas are used for coloration and most all of my work is one of a kind.

To learn more about Liane and her work, visit her website at http://www.redpathstudio.com/

Visit the Gallery Shop today and take a look at her jewelry!
