SEPTEMBER 6 – NOVEMBER 30, 2018
Colorful, finely crafted, elegant and playful work in a range fiber media by local and nationally known artists will be exhibited at the Janson Art Center, September 6 through November 30 during the Fibers & Beyond exhibit. Featured artists include John Mullarkey, Caryn Friedlander, Patti Barker, Liz Moncrief, Marilyn Olsen and Sheri Ward. The exhibit will also include woven rugs by the late Jo Morgan and work by members of the Whatcom Weavers Guild that showcases tablet and floor loom weaving techniques, eco-dyed monoprints, hand stitching and felting.
The Opening Reception is on Thursday, September 6 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Library Workshop at the Jansen Art Center. The exhibit is part of the annual Fibers & Beyond Conference and Sale, which takes place at the J from October 10 – 13, 2018 and includes a keynote speaker, workshops and the popular Whatcom Weavers Guild sale.
