Expired Wool Variegated Dyeing

Here’s your chance to try your hand at variegated dyeing of wool, and create your own unique art yarn.

Bring your own wool yarn in a skein of ¼ pound or so. Your skein should be tied with figure 8’s in four places, so we avoid tangles.

Wash your wool the evening before, in some gentle cleaner such as Syntrapol. Rinse it out after washing, and bring it damp. When you arrive, we’ll put your skein in a tub of vinegar water to pre-soak. Please label your skein before you bring it.

$10.00

MATERIALS FEE: $3.00 (Paid to studio on day of session)

We’ll provide the acid dyes, procedures, and recipes. Wear old clothes, so you won’t mind if you get a little dye on yourself.

PREREQUISITES: None
