1 Day Workshop

Thursday, October 11
9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Instructor: John Mullarkey

In this workshop, we will learn how to design and weave double faced patterns. This technique is easy to warp and allows for woven figures and lettering. Having some previous tablet weaving experience is best. And this does require focus and concentration.

If you’re somewhat new to tablet weaving, we recommend the half-day tablet warping workshop on Wednesday.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, October 5

AGES: Adults and Teens 16+

CLASS FEE:
Members: $90.00
Non-Members: $100.00

MATERIALS FEE:
Paid to the instructor on the day of the class: $15.00

MATERIALS TO BRING:

  • Scissors
  • 4 balls or cones of 10/2 mercerized or unmercerized cotton or #10 crochet thread. Each ball should be at least 1 ounce.
    • 2 balls of one color
    • 2 balls of one highly contrasting color.

There will not be time to wind off during class, so please come prepared with four yarn sources.

John Mullarkey’s workshops at Fibers & Beyond 2018 are supported by a generous donation from the Whatcom Weavers Guild Peg Templeton Fund. Peg was a prolific Tablet Weaver, in addition to her floor loom weaving and teaching. Many thanks to WWG and Sharon Allen, helping make these workshops more affordable for all.
