Sold Out SURFACE DESIGN TECHNIQUES FOR INTERMEDIATE CERAMIC ARTISTS
Surface Design Techniques for Intermediate Ceramic Artists
6 Weeks
Wednesday, May 1 – June 5
2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Instructor: Ruth Hesse
Want to bring some excitement to your clay creations? Monotype printmaker Ruth Hesse will be sharing some of her surface design techniques for clay. The class will cover additive and subtractive techniques, using slips, underglazes, and wax resist.
The first five weeks of class will include demonstrations and assistance with projects as needed, as well as discussion of various elements of design. The sixth week of class will be an opportunity for students to share their work with each other.
This class is intended for intermediate students who have prior clay experience. Students will be encouraged to work on several projects concurrently, as some of the techniques require time in between steps. This class is a good opportunity to make multiples of something such as a bowl, mug, or tile, to try out different surface design techniques.
