Learn the ins and outs of jewelry making in this one-week crash course. This Summer Jewelry Intensive includes 5 days of projects and experimentations, including many demonstrations, design time, and hands-on experience using a torch and basic jewelry tools.
Day One: Introduction to the shop, tools, equipment and materials. The project this day is making a copper/brass pin or pendant. Design time and demonstrations will be included.
Day Two: Students will learn basic metalsmith processes such as sawing, filing, and finishing work. We will continue working with the torch for annealing and sweat soldering.
Day Three: Make a Sterling Silver Ring! This day will include demonstrations, designing, and fabricating your own ring.
Day Four: Make a Sterling Silver pendant with a cabochon stone. Demonstrations will include bezeling and stone implementation.
Day Five: Our final project will be a Fold Form copper bracelet from start to finish. Additionally, students will have time to finish all projects.

MATERIALS TO BRING
- a pencil and sketchbook/notebook to take notes
- Students are required to wear closed-toed shoes and be able to tie long hair back for safety.
COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Masks are not required, but recommended.
We encourage you to practice social distancing when possible and masks will still be available if you choose to wear one.
