One of the most impressive things inside the Jansen Art Center is the Schimmel piano located in the Chamber Hall.
This grand piano fills the entire building with rich resonant sound. We love when we get to showcase this showpiece instrument.
On select Friday mornings beginning at 11am, join us for a one-hour performance by regional pianists. Our March concert features a performance by Cayley Schmid & Aaron Guest.
Admission is by donation, and we will provide coffee, tea, and cookies or pastries for you to enjoy.
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS:
Cayley Schmid and Aaron Guest met at the Bellingham Farmers Market in 2009. Desperately jealous of each other’s busking success, they neutralized the competition and started a band together. This was the beginning of a decade-long musical partnership that descended into marriage. After the retirement of their band, Polecat, in 2020, Aaron and Cayley suddenly found themselves musically unsupervised by their bandmates for the first time. Together they play instrumental Celtic music on fiddle and piano.
