Upcoming Rigid Heddle Weaving: Lace and Textures

Rigid heddle weaving is already fun and now we’re going to add to our toolbox of techniques by learning to use pick-up sticks and finger manipulations to add lace and texture to the cloth. This class will cover a variety of techniques for both allover designs and isolated areas of pattern, you will learn how to add woven details to create new dimensions in your weaving.

PREREQUISITES
Must know how to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom

MATERIALS TO BRING

  • Rigid heddle loom that is already warped and ready to weave (instructor will send warping instructions ahead of time)
  • Weft yarn in the same weight as warp yarn (50 – 100 yds), some the same color as warp, and some can be a different color
  • 2 shuttles (stick or boat), 1 pick-up stick no longer than 16″
  • Weaving kit (tape measure, small scissors)
  • Note-taking materials
