Expired Opening Reception: Falling Out of the Box

Opening Reception: Thursday, October 12, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Falling Out of the Box is an annual jewelry design challenge hosted by the Jansen Art Center. This year’s theme is Holding Space. Artists are challenged to create an object that can hold something – another object, a memory or feeling – it can be literal or figurative. Participating artists started receiving their identical Material Boxes on Friday, September 1 and have until Wednesday, October 4th to finish and return their finished artwork. The exhibit begins on Thursday, October 12 with an Opening Reception at the Jansen Art Center from 6:00 PM – 8:00 Pm. During the reception, many of the artists will be on hand to answer questions about their work; there will be Live Music in the Piano Lounge with Checo Tohomaso; the Firehall Cafe will be open and serving from its full menu of food and drinks; and attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Awards. Come early and enjoy Edaleen’s Ice Cream during the Ceramic Studio’s Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser.
