Upcoming Morning Sampler Summer Camp

In the Morning Sampler Camp, each group of kids stays together as a class and visits a different workshop each morning. This is a great way to try a bunch of new things in one week! Open to all kids aged 6-14, the young artists will be divided into groups of similar ages and will stay with their group for the remainder of the week, moving through each of the J’s studios day by day.

Workshops
Hand Painted Tiles
Let’s get creative! Kids will transform a plain white 4×4 tile into a colorful masterpiece using alcohol markers. Watch your artwork come to life as you design, doodle, and play with colors on a smooth ceramic tile. Fun, easy, and totally unique!
Drawing Animals
Calling all young artists! Join illustrator Angela Boyle and learn how to draw amazing animals. Focusing on a small selection of animals, we’ll look at the similarities and differences. We’ll start with quick drawings to discuss anatomy and then do some detailed drawings to try out various textures, like for, feathers, and scales.
Textile Explorations: Pocket Weaving
Get ready to weave some fun! Each day, campers will create a mini “pocket” weaving using a simple cardboard loom. Explore colorful, textured, yarns of different fibers as you experiment, design, and weave your own masterpiece.
Summer Sunset in Acrylics
Create your perfect Summer Sunset Scene. Students will paint a beautiful backlit summer sunset scene with a dark, leafy tree silhouette. Blend warm colors, experiment with light and shadow, and bring your masterpiece to life.
