5 Week Class with Leah Meleski

Do you have a project that you have been struggling with or maybe have dying to make but have no idea how to start?

Join Leah in the jewelry studio and work on a personal project that you need help with. Students are asked to come to class with a project that may be unfinished or several sketches of project(s) that you want to work on. Class will include discussion of fabrication techniques and specific demonstrations on techniques tailored to assist you in completing your own project.

This class will encourage independence and foster confidence in the Jewelry Studio while preparing you for our independent Open Studio time.
Please note: The Jewelry Open Studio is separate from this class. To be eligible to participate in the Jansen’s open studio, you must be approved by Judith Gauthier or Leah Meleski. Our goal is for you to be able to work independently in the studio while being mindful of studio safety.

PREREQUISITES
This class is designed for beginning students that want to build their independent jewelry practice, you must have taken either Beginning Jewelry or Metalsmithing & Jewelry 1.

MATERIALS TO BRING

Students are encouraged to bring an unfinished project and/or sketches, a pencil and a sketchbook/notebook and required to wear closed-toed shoes such as sneakers or boots and be able to tie long hair back for safety.

Students must bring materials to create their project. They are welcome to reach out to the instructor for assistance in ordering the materials for their project. The instructor will have some materials available for purchase at the current market value.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: Masks are optional.
