Expired Let’s Make a Zine!
1 Day
Class Date: Wednesday, July 14 from 10:00am-12:00pm
Instructor: Cynthia French
Zines are DIY sub-culture publications. They are usually handmade and photocopied. Sometimes they are centered on a specific topic, a period of time, a political stance, a collection of art and poetry, comics, essays, clips from magazines and newspapers, drawings, recipes, lists, or whatever else the creators might want to share. They have been used by activists and artists and continue the tradition of pamphlets that were produced back when the printing press first made duplicating pages accessible. Feel free to bring your own poems, recipes, magazines (that you don’t mind cutting up), stickers, drawings, or other items you might want to incorporate into our zine. We’ll work on some creative projects as a group and you’ll have time to experiment with your own imagination.
