Expired Kathleen Faulkner, Northwest is Best
December 3 – March 19, 2021
KATHLEEN FAULKNER
Kathleen is a jewelry artist and painter. Born and raised in Seattle, her formal schooling was at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. She also was a jewelry apprentice for several years. Her home and studio are in Anacortes, WA. The primary focus of her work is the Northwest — it is what she knows.
Artist Statement
My work is about the environment and documentation. Life on earth now is a lot different than when we were younger. We are paying the price for our overconsumption. Other species, wild places, biospheres are declining. I keep track of what is here in a small portion of a region called the Pacific Northwest. I miss the abundance of the past but try to live in the moment. It is less than it was, but more than it may be in the future.
