JIM LONG TRIO. Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Bellingham keyboardist Jim Long embraces a musical style that weaves together jazz tradition and improvisation with the rich harmonic lexicon of progressive jazz composers. The result is a modern, innovative sound that is all at once classic and contemporary. This performance will also include saxophonist Mark Kelly. Live Music in the Piano Lounge features local and traveling musicians from a wide range of styles and experience on Thursday nights  at the Jansen Art Center in Downtown Lynden. The Firehall Cafe opens at 5:30pm and stays open through the performance serving from their regular menu of sandwiches, salads, espresso drinks, beer and wine. These events are free, however tips for the musicians are always appreciated.
