Upcoming Intro to Glaze

7-Week Class with Katrina Fekkes

This introductory class explores the fundamentals of glazing in ceramics. Students will learn about different types of glazes, their components, and how they interact with various clay bodies. Through hands-on practice, participants will experiment with application techniques such as dipping, pouring, spraying, and brushing, while gaining an understanding of glaze chemistry and how firing temperature affects results. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in creating and customizing surface finishes to bring their ceramic work to life

MATERIALS FEE
Clay can be purchased in our gift shop for $35 a bag.
AGE
Adults 16+
PREREQUISITE
Beginning ceramics knowledge and throwing/handbuilding skills.

MATERIALS TO BRING
A dust mask or respirator (N95 or better), apron, notebook, small plastic containers with lids for glaze testing, roll of painters tape, sharpie. You will be making work to glaze so you will need to purchase clay from the gift shop for $35 per bag.
