Sold Out Intermediate Wheel Throwing

6:00-8:30pm
Wheel throwing class for intermediate and advanced potters. Students will learn how to make larger bowls, bottles, pitchers and lidded vessels. Efficient techniques in pulling and trimming will be explained. Expect to use 2–5 pounds of clay per vessel. Dive deeper into the glaze process by using washes, wax resist and/or underglazes or even try the spray booth. Students will be encouraged to put several pieces in the reduction gas kiln.

PREREQUISITES
Can confidently center and consistently perform basic throwing techniques with 1 pound of clay and throw basic forms such as the cylinder and bowl.

MATERIALS TO BRING
A small bucket for water, hand towel, basic pottery tools, apron and clothes that can get dirty. The Kemper Pottery Tool Set is the recommended starter kit and can be purchased online through most pottery suppliers or Amazon. We have basic tools to borrow as well, so no worries!
