6 Week Class with Jesse Rasmussen

In this class, you will learn to design and make hand-built pottery and ceramic sculpture using various techniques such as slab construction, coil pots, pinch pots, extruder construction, and surface texture.
The potter’s wheel will also be incorporated for those interested in learning how to use the wheel as a tool for making sculptural and functional objects. Glazing will also be covered under this program. Students will be encouraged to expand on what they have learned and to take projects in their own direction during the class.
The cost of this course includes 23 hours per week of free open studio time for extra practice.

MATERIALS TO BRING
- Basic pottery tools are available for purchase at the J ($15 for a basic pottery tool kit), or you can bring your own.
- Old towel
- Small bucket for water (an ice cream pail works great)
- Clothes for getting dirty and having fun
