Grace Stowell & Avah Moles (classical piano and violin)

Every Thursday night, the J invites you to enjoy live music in the piano lounge while enjoying drinks and food from the Firehall Cafe. Currated by local musician Victor Pruner, the Live Music in the Piano Lounge series is designed to bring a variety of live music to the community of Lynden.

Performances are always free, but tips for the musicians are greatly appreciated.

Grace Stowell & Avah Moles

Grace Stowell has been playing the piano for 14 years and has studied with both Sherry VandenBos and Victoria Sabo.  She also plays violin which she studied with Karen Visser.  Grace enjoys playing for the residents of the Christian Health Care Center, at church, for musicals, and for special events.

Avah Moles has been singing since before she can remember.  At the age of five, she started playing the piano and has since mastered both the  violin and viola.  She currently studies under Sharyn Peterson and is a first violin and string coach with Mount Baker Youth Symphony.  This past month she began teaching the Silver Beach Elementary Singing Strings program.  In 2016, she sang as a soloist with the North Stars Chamber Orchestra in Prague and Vienna.  Avah also enjoys leading worship for her church and singing the national anthem at local events.
Grace and Avah played together on occasion, but started playing together more frequently since summer of 2016.  They primarily play classical and sacred music, but also enjoy crossing over into other genres such as contemporary, folk, jazz, and more!
