Shop for unique fashion and home decor items, handcrafted by talented local weavers, felters, basket makers and jewelers. Whatcom Weavers Guild presents the annual Fibers & Beyond Sale on Saturday, October 14, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Jansen Art Center.
New this year – hand-spun yarn from the Spindrifters – A Spinner Guild for Whatcom, Skagit & Island Counties.
The Whatcom Weavers Guild juries submissions from the region’s most talented fiber artists to hand select the very best for this popular event. For the second year, the sale is being held at the Jansen Art Center in downtown Lynden which offers an intimate setting in a convenient location with ample free parking.
The one-day Fibers & Beyond Sale is free and open to the public.
The sale is the culmination of a week of fiber workshops, art exhibit and keynote speaker as part of the Fibers & Beyond Conference at the Jansen Art Center. An exhibition by Whatcom Weavers Guild members will be on display at the J from September 7 through December 1. This year’s conference keynote address will be delivered by Susan Pavel, a noted Salish weaver, on the first day of the conference, Wednesday, October 11.
