1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Instructor: Leah Meleski

During this Kids Do Art class, students will learn the art of a Zentangle, and create a finished artwork the involves metal embossing. The process of creating a Zentangle drawing is a easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun. The drawings are created through the use of pattern and structure with stunning results. The students will achieve a beautiful antiqued finish on metal through embossing their Zentangle design onto the surface with a variety of tools and finishes. Once the students artwork is complete, we will mount the finished piece onto a wooden backing, a wooden box or journal so they are able to display their artwork at home.
Class order:
1. Draw several zentangles/sketches
2. Emboss metal(s)-front and back cover. The design would be made from one of the students zentangle sketches and then we would set the book together.
3. Add a finish to the metal.
4. Attach to either wood or book covers
5. Sew book together.
