Upcoming Eco Dyeing on Fabric with Natural Dyes

In this hands-on eco dyeing class students will create two beautiful silk scarves using local plant materials and all natural dyes on covering “blankets” that carry select dyes. Students will learn techniques for preparing fabric for botanical printing, laying out of plant material, preparing and placing dye blankets, steaming fabric bundles, and finishing the final product. Samples where different fabrics, techniques, mordants and dyes were used will be shown and discussed.
