Class Date: Wednesday, July 7 from 10:00am-12:00pm
Instructor: Jill Roderick
Designed with beginners in mind, your child will learn what a collage is, explore creative collage ideas, and apply basic collage techniques to complete a fun and unique piece of art at their level. We’ll use a variety of papers and other “fun junk” to create an animal collage of the student’s choice. We’ll look at a few famous artists who have used mixed media collage and evaluate what makes artwork exciting and successful. This workshop allows lots of creative freedom, along with skills needed to begin an artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative “outside the box” thinking!
Do you love to cut and glue things? Come learn what a collage is, how artists make collages, and explore your own creative collage ideas! You’ll use a variety of papers, glue, and even old junk to create a unique animal collage of your own. We’ll look at collages from famous artists, learn what “mixed media” means, and learn how to use different media (art supplies) to express creative ideas. You’ll come home with an animal collage that is as original and unique as you are!
