1 Day Workshop with Christy Schroeder-Lloyd
Tuesday, September 20, 2022
This informational and demonstration-based presentation is designed to give an overview of a wide variety of calligraphy and hand-lettering styles for the curious observer, as well as help guide you in selecting an appropriate calligraphy class here at The J!
In addition to an historical overview, I’ll aim to answer some of the common questions and assumptions calligraphers hear, such as:
What is Calligraphy anyway?
I bought a kit and a book—why would I need a class?
I’m not artistic so I can’t do it
Why is the class so long?
What is calligraphy vs. lettering art?
What style should I learn?
Did you learn that by copying a computer font?
Do I have to practice?
Sit back, relax, enjoy the demonstrations, and ask questions!
As a professional calligrapher with a studio business, I hope to inspire and educate those with the slightest interest and show that calligraphy is not a “dying art.”
