Upcoming Color and Weave Effects

4 Week Class with Sheri Ward

Come explore some of the fascinating effects you can get through color combinations in warp and weft. Typically worked with two shuttles, color-and-weave patterns transform simple plain weave and twill structures into interesting designs through the use of intentional color patterns. We’ll use the J’s 4-harness table looms (included in the fee) and log-cabin patterns, hound’s tooth, shadow-weave, and twill weaves to see the impressive effects that can be achieved.

Students will be provided with warping instructions a week or two before the class starts and should have some familiarity with warping a loom. If you would like help with warping, please come to the Textile Studio on Thursday, Oct. 12 between 11 and 3, or arrange an alternate time with the instructor.
