Learn the art of making pottery and creating decorative and functional vessels in a spacious studio.
This class is for the beginner and for those who have taken beginning pottery classes in the past. The course will cover basic and intermediate-level workings in clay – mainly focused on wheel-thrown vessels (centering, pulling walls, shaping, and trimming). Topics on cups, mugs, bowls, plates, cylinders, and related shapes will be covered. Each student will create a series of vessels on the wheel. Glaze and firing techniques will also be covered.
Advanced students are welcome and individual instruction will be given on topics such as lids, two-part pots, slip decoration, large vessels, production techniques, and more.
This course includes access to the free open studio for the duration of this class for extra practice.
