Upcoming All Levels Wheel Throwing
7-Week Class with Michelle Crowe
Tuesday, November 5 – December 17, 2024
5:30 pm – 8 pm
Learn the art of making pottery and creating decorative and functional vessels in a spacious studio. This class is for the beginner and for those who have taken beginning pottery classes in the past. The course will cover basic and intermediate-level workings in clay – focused on wheel-thrown vessels (centering, pulling walls, shaping, and trimming). Topics on cylinders, cups, mugs, bowls, plates, and related shapes will be covered with a focus on having fun. Each student will create a series of vessels on the wheel. Glaze and firing techniques will also be covered. Advanced students are welcome and individual instruction will be given on topics such as lids, two-part pots, surface decoration, large vessels, flower pots, production techniques, and more. If you have a specific project in mind, bring it to class and we can work on it together! This course includes access to the free open studio for the duration of this class for extra practice.
