1-Day Workshop with Lisa Heidle

Saturday, January 25, 2025
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm 

This 2-hour Flash Fiction Workshop for all levels will introduce you to the Flash Fiction (1,000 words or less) form in all it’s minimalist glory. Through inspiring Flash Fiction stories and writing prompts, you will learn how to use sense imagery, a strong title, and compelling first lines to connect with your readers. With a focus on brevity, you will learn how to edit down your word count without losing the core of your story. When you leave this workshop, you will have a list of Flash Fiction publication sites and the knowledge you need to submit your work with confidence.

Workshop Objectives:
-Defining Flash Fiction and introducing the basic building blocks of the form.
-Creating and Developing publishable flash fiction stories with a focus on sense imagery to engage readers.
-Improving your editing skills with a focus on “less is more”.
-Exploring publication opportunities for flash fiction, including how to submit your work.
