  • Date November 1, 2017

EXHIBIT DATES: March 1 – June 1, 2018
OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, March 1, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Join us at the Jansen Art Center on Thursday, March 1 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM for the Opening Reception for the Spring Juried Exhibit. Enjoy live music in the piano lounge with jazz pianist Scot Ranney, meet the artists and explore our three additional featured artist exhibits: Nick Payne, Jyoti Duwadi, and Leotie Richards.

The Juried Exhibits are open to the public as a way to showcase the artistic talent in Whatcom County and the surrounding region. Each season, artists are invited to submit up to five pieces to be judged by a qualified jury made up of artists, curators, and other figures in the arts community. The selected pieces are displayed in the Jansen Art Center for the community to enjoy.

This quarter, we received submissions from over 50 artists. The jury selected 75 pieces from 43 artists for the 2018 Spring Juried Exhibit. The exhibit includes acrylic, oil, gouache and watercolor paintings, pastels, photography, bronze sculpture, pencil drawings, intaglio, computer art, weaving mixed media and linocut artwork.
