FOOD ALL DAY
11am-5pm – Mobile Mouthhole
This fantastic food truck and Whatcom County staple will be on hand all day out front at the J!
11am-12pm Cayley Schmid & Clea Taylor Johnson
Irish and Scottish fiddle and cello duo. Lively reels and sweeping waltzes.
12:15-1pm Pan-Celtic Jam Session
Join Cayley and Clea upstairs for a casual drop-in Celtic music guided session. All instruments and instrument players are welcome to join in. If you know some Irish or Scottish tunes, come share them and we’ll play along with you. If you don’t know any tunes yet, we’ll play some slowly enough for folks to try and pick up by ear, and we’ll also have some sheet music printed out for those who like to have the notes in front of them. All are welcome, come give it a try!

3:00 – Front Street Jazz
The talented musicians of the Jansen Art Center Front Street Jazz band will be here to celebrate the 10 year anniversary and make a grand splash to end the day with rousing tunes!
IN THE TEXTILES STUDIO
Visitors will be welcome to try all kinds of weaving and textiles skills in a variety of open demonstrations on the sidewalk and inside the studios
Indigo Dye Dip
Pick a napkin that is pre-stamped with resist, twist up your own design and dip it once, dip it again if you like, and hang it up to dry in the sunshine while you explore the rest of the building. Free to all.

IN THE CERAMICS STUDIO
Drop in and see what the studio is all about. Support the hard working artists in the J Ceramics Studio by purchasing a piece of pottery in the Studio Sale, or get a mug or wine goblet complete with a beverage.
Visit the Alley Workshop – the former site of the city morgue! – for a stunning display of pottery work from artists working in the Ceramics Studio at the J. There will be a wide selection of work from dishes and cups and plates and bowls to vases and planters and sculptures and more!
Open Studios + Studio Tours
Drop in to the studio and see what’s happening – with 8 throwing wheels, a variety of kilns, tools and handbuilding stations and a great glaze room, our ceramics studio will be open to peruse.
Beer Stein + Wine Goblets
Visit the cafe for a cold beer or glass of wine – and choose from a selection of handmade vessels to contain your tasty beverage. Studio members have been creating a collection of cups, mugs, steins and goblets for purchase. All proceeds go directly to the Ceramics Studio to replenish supplies and materials.
IN THE JEWELRY STUDIO
See the brand new Jewelry Studio! The grand opening of their new home in an upgraded space with more capabilities for classes and workstations!
Take and Make Dog Tags
Create a gift for your favorite furry friend. Swing in and make a quick present and pick up some new skills while you’re here! Punch out a shape with or without texture and make a tag for your dog, cat or other pet.
Twist, bend and create your own swizzle sticks. Add the garnish of your choice and you’re all set for cocktail hour!
The Jewelry studio leaders and community members will be in the studio working on a group project creating bolo ties. Stop by to see the variety of methods they employ in their work and get a tour of the brand new studio
