2022 WAST @ the J Exhibit Submission Form

The Whatcom Artist Studio Tour exhibit at the Jansen Art Center will run from Thursday, July 14 through Saturday, October 15. There will be an Opening Reception on Thursday, July 14 from 6-8pm. Art Drop Off is Saturday, July 9 from 10am-2pm Art Pick Up is Monday, October 17 from 12pm-5pm
  • Complete the following form to submit your artwork for the upcoming WAST exhibit at the Jansen Art Center. Before you begin, you will want to make sure you have the following:

    Artist Statement: Artist statements are posted near your artwork. You can include information about yourself as an artist and/or about the work you are submitting for this exhibit. 200 words or less.

    Artwork Label Information: For each work you submit, you will be asked for the title, dimensions, medium and retail price. This information is used for creating labels for your work and must be accurate.

    Images: Please submit clear, well cropped images of your artwork. We choose from these images for our exhibit posters and online marketing Files must be named with your last name, followed by a dash or underscore, and the piece title. Example: smith_title.

  • If accepted, your artist statement will be printed and displayed next to your pieces. Artist statements must be 200 words or less.
  • I agree that the Jansen Art Center has my permission to use images of my accepted artwork for marketing purposes (exhibit poster, website, press releases, social media platforms, etc.)

  • List with this format: 30" x 40" height x width
  • The Artist will receive a commission split of 60% of the retail price and the Jansen Art Center will receive 40%. The artist determines the retail price. All prices should be in US Dollars. Enter NFS if artwork will not be offered for sale.

    SUBMISSIONS AND CONSIGNMENT: By submitting this form, the artist agrees to the following Consignment Agreement terms for the accepted pieces of artwork to be included in the exhibit:
    1. The Jansen Art Center reserves the right to hang/or display all consigned art.
    2. All art will be for sale, unless exceptions are noted as NFS. The Artist will receive a commission split of 60% of the retail price and the Jansen Art Center will receive 40% for sales from the exhibit. The artist determines the retail price.
    3. Upon the sale of consigned art, payment will be made by the 15th of the following month.
    4. The Jansen Art Center assumes full responsibility of work lost, stolen, or damaged while in the gallery’s possession from the date of delivery to the art center through pick-up of the inventory or for a total of 100 days, whichever is first. Requests for items to be left longer than 100 days must be approved by a Jansen Art Center Manager. Artists are responsible for picking up their work or arranging for return shipment. The Jansen Art Center will not pay for missing items after the consignment contract has expired.

    DELIVERING AND RETRIEVING ARTWORK: Artists may ship their work to the art center, although we are not able to offer return shipping at this time and all artwork must be picked up in person. All unsold artwork must be retrieved within one month following the exhibition closing. The Jansen Art Center cannot be held responsible for the security of abandoned work. Artwork not retrieved after 1 month will be considered abandoned and become the property of the Jansen Art Center and sold or disposed of at our discretion.
